An SSL certificate is a bit of code on your web server that provides security for online communications. When a web browser contacts your secured website, the SSL certificate enables an encrypted connection. It’s kind of like sealing a letter in an envelope before sending it through the mail. To install one onto your account these are the steps to follow.
- Log onto your control panel and go to SSL certificates as shown below.
- On this page you go to Let’s Encrypt and select wild card only if the domain is pointing to the server via nameservers, if it is pointing via IP you can then select the other options. Make sure to select the ‘Force SSL redirect’ option at the bottom and press save.
- Once everything is in order, select Save at the bottom.
