Windows Vista / Windows 7 Flush DNS

READ FIRST: You should make note of the Instructions below, and close all open Browser Windows and Close Your Email Software BEFORE flushing your DNS.

Flushing DNS on newer versions of Windows is almost as easy as the earlier versions but due to Microsofts security additions you must run the command prompt with administrator privileges.

#1. Open Command Window: Click the start button and navigate to the command prompt (Start > All Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt)
NOTE: Make sure that you right click on the command prompt application and choose “Run as Administrator”

#2. Type in the command “ipconfig /flushdns” Then Hit Enter on your Keyboard

The Results should say: “Successfully flushed the DNS resolver cache”

#3. Shut Down Your Computer.

#4. To Ensure you Have Thoroughly Cleared Your cache we Suggest that you also Restart your Modem and Router (if using one). Turn off or Unplug Your Modem and Router. Wait at least 3 Minutes Then Restart Your Modem (wait for it to fully boot up), Then Restart your Router (wait for it to fully Reboot), Then Restart Your Computer.
